Contact Forms

When submitting the form, we collect your name and email address. These data are used to respond to your requests or questions, and will not be used for commercial purposes.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

We use different types of cookies to enhance your experience on our site:

Essential Cookies

  • Session cookies: A temporary cookie will be created when you visit the login page to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal data and will be automatically deleted when you close your browser.
  • _GRECAPTCHA: We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect our site from abuse and spam. This cookie is essential to ensure that actions on the site are performed by humans and not by bots. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Terms of Use.

Functional Cookies

  • Comment cookies: If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
  • Login and screen preference cookies: When you log in, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. The lifespan of a login cookie is two days, and a screen option cookie is a year. If you select « Remember Me », your login cookie will be kept for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookie will be removed.
  • Post modification cookies: If you edit or publish a post, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data. It simply indicates the post ID of the post you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Host Logs

Our web host keeps logs that include the IP address of each request sent to our server. These logs are kept for security reasons and to ensure the stability and reliability of our service. Although we have access to these logs, we do not use them to track or individually identify users. For more information about our host, please see our legal notice.

Statistics and Audience Measurement

We use the web statistics provided by our host to understand how our site is used and to improve our services. These statistics are based on the logs of our site, but are presented in an anonymous and aggregated manner. We do not have access to individual or identifiable information in these statistics.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Use of reCaptcha v3

We use reCaptcha v3 on our site to protect against abuse and spam. The use of reCaptcha v3 is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms of use. reCaptcha collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sends it to Google for analysis. This information is used to improve reCaptcha and for security purposes. By using reCaptcha, you agree that Google may process your data in this way.

For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Terms of Use.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
